Les Berry Funeral

les berryLeslie “Les” Berry, 97, of Wooster, died Friday evening, March 22, 2013 at Smithville Western Care Center following a period of declining health.

Les was born Jan. 13, 1916 in Sardis, the son of the late Bert and Mahala (Ledgett) Berry and graduate from Wooster High School. He attended Wooster Business College.

Les was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II serving from 1942-1945. He flew 35 missions over Germany, France and Belgium and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. On Nov. 16, 1946 he married Geraldine “Gerrie” Chapman who preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 1985. He later met Evelyn Frase at a dance and they were married June 22, 1991.

He retired from the former COFSCO Oil and Gas in Wooster and had previously worked at Bauer Ladder Co. and Sheller Meats. Les became a member of Central Christian Church on December 1, 1928 and was a life deacon.  He was a member of the Wooster V.F.W. Post 1081, Wooster American Legion Post 68, Wooster Elks Lodge 1346, Moose Lodge and the Wooster Eagles. He was a member of the American Bowling Conference and had bowled for 66 years. In 2009, Les joined the 100,000 Pin Club for National Tournament Bowling. Les also enjoyed golfing and dancing and will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his wife Evelyn; children and their spouses, Don and Glenda Frase, of Wooster; Russ and Nancy Frase, of Tega Cay, S.C.; Jeanne Ann Frase and Mitch Hackel, of Wooster; and Nancy and Greg Vinez, of Barberton; son-in-law Marty Glozer, of Woodstock, Ga.; and eight grandchildren, David Moran, Angela Frase, Carl and Sophia Harp and Seth, Claire, Hope and Erin Frase.

In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by daughters Linda Moran and Karla Frase and infant grandchildren Todd Moran and Cole Frase.

Larry B. Williamson

Larry B. Williamson, 78, of Wooster, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Wooster Community Hospital.

He was born Dec. 24, 1934, in Blissfield, the son of Fred and Ruth Reiss Williamson, and married Alice Simmerman on Feb. 18, 1998. She survives.

He was a graduate of Warsaw High School and was the owner of Wayne Electric Co. Larry was a member of Central Christian Church, Moose Lodge and the 20/30 Club. He was a former Elks trustee and was Elk of the year.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Darlene Seager of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a grandson, Brian (Missy) Davenport of Florida; a great-granddaughter, Sophia Davenport; and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Betty Patterson.
